Huawei announced the new Ascend Mate7 phablet at IFA 2014 today. Unlike what its name suggests, the Ascend Mate7 offers a 6-inch 1080p display. However, the size of the device isn't too great, thanks to some really narrow bezels on all four sides of the display.

The Huawei Ascend Mate7 is powered by an octa-core Kirin 925 processor, which features 4 x Cortex A15 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz, and 4 x Cortex A7 cores at 1.3 GHz. There's 2 GB of RAM in the 16 GB model and 3 GB of RAM in the 32 GB model of the phablet.

Huawei has equipped its big-sized device with a fingerprint reader at the back. There's a 13 MP rear camera, 5 MP front camera, a large 4,100 mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat with Huawei's own EMUI v3.0 running on top.

The Ascend Mate7 will go on sale in Q3 2014 for €499/€599 (16/32 GB models).
