ODMs Compal Electronics and Wistron saw August shipments of 3.9 million notebooks up on month by 8.3% and 1.8 million units by 5.9% respectively, while fellow maker Inventec shipped 1.4 million units, dropping 6.7%, according to the companies.
In addition, Wistron's shipments of 1.3 million hand-held devices and 500,000 LCD TVs in August rose on month by 8.3% and 11.1%, respectively.
Compal had consolidated revenues of NT$72.391 billion (US$2.41 billion) for August growing on month by 4.01% and on year by 38.94% and NT$514.442 billion for January-August rising on year by 17.63%.
Wistron posted consolidated revenues of NT$48.011 billion for August, up 3.59% on month but down 9.11% on year, and NT$356.007 billion for January-August, slipping on year by 15.72%.
Inventec recorded consolidated revenues of NT$31.305 billion for August, decreasing 5.88% on month and 17.33% on year, and NT$286.157 billion for January-August, growing 2.6% on year.
