Asustek Computer on September 9 reported consolidated revenues of NT$42.164 billion (US$1.405 billion) for August, increasing 4.91% on month and 3.1% on year, and NT$297.887 billion for January-August, rising 2.56% on year.

Asustek generated global own-brand revenues of NT$38.722 billion for August, growing 5.28% on month and 5.69% on year.

The revenue growth in August was mainly due to booming sales of notebooks and ZenFone smartphones, market analysts said. Asustek's global notebook shipments in August increased 15% on month, with particularly high growth in China, Asia Pacific and Western Europe, the sources indicated.

Asustek shipped one million ZenFones in August and is expected to ship more than one million units in September, the sources noted. Asustek will launch a TD-LTE-enabled ZenFone in China through cooperation with China Mobile in November and LTE-enabled models in the US by the end of 2014, the sources indicated.
