Foxconn Electronics has reported revenues of NT$275.08 billion (US$9.18 billion) for August, up 5.71% sequentially but down 1.91% on year. For the first eight months of 2014, revenues totaled NT$2.29 trillion, edging up 0.5% from a year earlier.

Foxconn pointed out that the growth is mainly due to consumer electronics products' strong shipments, while the PC computing business also had a slight growth. However, communication-related products had a flat performance in August.

Although Apple has just released its new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, Foxconn's August revenues did not receive a boost because most of Apple's new devices are still being stored at Foxconn's plants, explained some market watchers, adding that new iPhones are expected to start contributing to Foxconn's revenues in September.

Foxconn declined to comment on its orders.

Shipments of the new iPhones are expected to reach 80 million units by the end of 2014. Foxonn and Pegatron Technology make the new smartphones for Apple.
