Supply chains expect to see orders from Motorola Mobility for low-priced handset components until the end of 2014 due to sales demand in Mexico, Brazil and India.
Panel maker sources noted Motorola's strategy is to further its market share in the entry-level handset segment in emerging economies as well as strengthen its presence for low-priced solutions in mature economies.
Taiwan touch panel makers in particular are expected to benefit from Motorola's strategy and expect to see increased orders for on-cell touch panels.
The sources also noted that Motorola expects demand for smaller-size, low-resolution handsets to remain steady throughout the end of the year. |
