Foxconn Electronics' (Hon Hai Precision Industry) plant in Brazil has resumed operations after the company enlisted a local arbitration court to resolve an employee strike.
Foxconn said workers have already returned to their posts and it will strengthen communication with representatives from the labor side.
Currently, the plant mainly produces desktops and LCD TVs and has a small portion of its production lines making non-Apple smartphones, according to market watchers.
The incident is the second employee protest at the factory since February 2013.
The strike started because the factory has adopted a contract-based pay system and most salaries have not been raised since 2012. The employees demanded Foxconn adopt Brazil's usual pay system and make promotion standards transparent. |
