Samsung Electronics exiting Europe's notebook market is expected to benefit its competitors Hewlett-Packard (HP), Acer and Asustek Computer, especially Acer as the vendor will have a good chance of taking up demand for Chromebooks that was left by Samsung, according to a Chinese-language Apply Daily report citing market watchers.
Samsung will temporarily stop selling Chromebooks and Windows-based ultrabooks in Europe, but its notebook businesses in other regions will remain unchanged.
The market watchers pointed out that demand for Chromebooks mainly comes from North America and Chromebook sales in Europe are still a minority currently, the report noted. |
