Hugo Barra announced that Xiaomi plans to sell 100,000 Smartphones in India during Diwali. The Vice President of Xiaomi Global says that 60,000 units of the Redmi 1S, and 40,000 units of the Xiaomi Mi3, are being imported to India on chartered plans from Hong Kong.

All of these 100,000 phones are expected to go on sale during the week of Diwali, which is that time of the year when Indians generally buy new consumer electronics for their personal or household use.
