BlackBerry just introduced the Passport smartphone, but it says 200,000 units have already been sold. BlackBerry announced the Passport this week, and it took two days on the market for there to be 200,000 orders.
John Chen, BlackBerry's CEO, says the launch is "unprecedented", and some analysts think it could mean a return of BlackBerry to the mainstream smartphone market.
The Passport's success is somewhat surprising since it is an oddly shaped QWERTY device similar to the company's older handsets.
Chen says within a few hours of launching, the Passport became the number one selling unlocked phone on Amazon. |
