Apple announced that the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus will be available in the Chinese domestic market from October 17, 2014. It will be available in ground-stores, online, and tied to all of China's three major carriers. The two will come with TD-LTE and FDD-LTE cellular data standards, which are local to the country.
Apple is pricing the 16 GB iPhone 6 at 5,288 RMB, the 64 GB iPhone 6 at 6,088 RMB, and the 128 GB iPhone 6 for 6,888 RMB. Its bigger sibling, the iPhone 6 Plus, starts at 6,088 RMB for the 16 GB model, 6,888 RMB for the 64 GB, and 7,788 RMB for the 128 GB model. Both the new iPhones are available in three color trims - gold, silver, and space-gray.
China's Apple Store queue-ups can make stateside queue-ups seem like a walk in the park. The company decided to implement a system, in which buyers reserve their phones starting October 14, for pick-up from a store of their choice, starting from October 17, on a first-come-first-serve basis.
