Apple is working on an iMac with a retina display according to many reports, and apparently its launch could be just around the corner. 9to5Mac says a new iMac with a higher resolution display is now in its final stages of testing, and therefore it is just a matter of time before Apple unveils the desktop and releases it. The iMac will reportedly run at a 5K resolution, jumping right past 4K.
Other than shipping with an improved display, there are not many reports claiming the iMac will actually look different than its predecessors. Though, for many users, the 5K resolution will be enough of a selling point to justify the purchase.
The next version of OS X, Yosemite, is launching in October, and another Apple media event has been planned for later this year. We could see the new retina iMac during that event. |
