Apple has invited people to another event, and even if it does introduce the rumored 12.9-inch iPad, the tablet is not expected to launch until 2015. The Wall Street Journal reports Apple is holding off on a release for the larger iPad until next year, primarily because it needs manufacturer resources directed at the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
The WSJ report cites people close to the company, and it says the tablet will not launch in time for holiday sales. Suppliers are reportedly working at full capacity just to come out with enough units for the new iPhones, so another tablet in mass production is not likely.
During Apple's October 16 event we should find out more about both the device and when it will launch. |
