Last night, HTC announced the new Desire EYE at their Double Exposure event in New York. The Desire EYE is the most powerful entrant in the Desire range, ever. It's got a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, and a 13 MP selfie camera.
The HTC Desire EYE packs two Sony IMX214 sensors (front and back), both of which are nearly identical in specs - 13 MP resolution, 1/3.06" CMOS sensors, 35mm equivalent wide-angle lens and 1.12 µm pixel size. Owing to the large display and camera on the top, the Desire EYE is a rather tall device - 151.7 x 73.8 x 8.5mm - but weighs only 154g thanks to the all-plastic construction.

HTC has gifted the Desire EYE with IPX7 certified water resistance, up to 1 meter and for 30 minutes. Other specifications include 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM, 16 GB expandable storage, a 2,400 mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense 6.
Pricing details are yet to be unveiled, but rollout across the globe will kick off later this October. In the US, AT&T will be the exclusive seller for a small time period before other carriers begin to offer the Desire EYE. |
