Two of HP's latest participants in the budget Android tablet market have gone on sale. The HP 7 G2 and HP 8 G2 are ready to ship. Amazon is selling the 7 G2 for $117, whereas the 8 G2 is on sale for $150. Both tablets have a near identical set of specifications.

The HP 7 G2 and HP 8 G2 pack a 1.2 GHz quad-core Allwinner A33 chipset, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB (7 G2) or 16 GB (8 G2) of expandable storage, 7-inch (1024 x 768) or 7.85-inch (1280 x 720) displays, 2 MP rear and VGA front cameras, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS.
