Back in June, Huawei announced the Honor 6, which was supposed to be a Samsung and Apple killer. However, the phone was powered by Kirin 920 SoC that wasn't on pair with Snapdragon 805. Today at an event in Beijing, Huawei officially unveiled the Honor 6 Extreme Edition.

The Extreme Edition now uses the company's latest Kirin 928 chipset that has a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor, 3 GB of RAM and Mali T628MP4 GPU. For comparison, Kirin 920 has octa-core CPU running at 1.3 GHz. Another advantage of the new chipset is LTE-A Cat 6 support, delivering download speeds of up to 300 Mbps.

It has 32 GB of built-in storage with a microSD card slot that supports up to 128 GB cards. Its 5-inch display supports 1080p resolution and is powered by a 3,100 mAh battery. Two cameras are in charge for photos and videos: a 5-megapixel front and a 13-megapixel rear camera. Huawei has yet to announce the price and a launch date.
