Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that the Cupertino company has sold 225 million iPads across the globe since the introduction of the original iPad model by Steve Jobs. Cook emphasized on the fact that more iPad units were shipped that PC units from top OEMs such as Lenovo, HP and Dell combined in Q3 2014.

Cook also revealed that the iTunes App Store now plays host to 675,000 iPad optimized apps. That's quite a sizeable library to pick from.
