HTC launched two new Desire handsets in India. The Desire 820 and Desire 820q come with 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720) displays, 16 GB of expandable storage, 13 MP f/2.2 rear cameras, 8 MP front cameras, BoomSound stereo front speakers, dual SIM slots, 2,600 mAh batteries and Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense 6 UI.

There are a few differences between the two, which leads to the slight differentiation in their respective prices.

The Desire 820 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 615, which has 4 x Cortex A53 cores at 1.5 GHz and another four cores at 1.0 GHz. These CPU cores have been coupled with the Adreno 405 GPU. Also, the Desire 820 comes with 2 GB of RAM.

Meanwhile, the Desire 820q is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410 chipset, which has 4 x Cortex A53 cores at 1.2 GHz, coupled with the Adreno 306 GPU. The Desire 820q has 1 GB of RAM.

Both the Desire 820 and Desire 820q serve as natural successors to the well-received Desire 816. Also, both Smartphones will be available in India starting November 5th for Rs. 24,990 ($417) and Rs. 22,550 ($375) respectively.
