Some of Sony's smartphones such as the Xperia Z3 are great devices, but the company is reportedly going to cut its smartphone sales expectations again. The Wall Street Journal reports the company is cutting its sales projection by millions of units, and it plans to announce the cuts soon.
Sony has reduced sales expectations by several million phone units before, so this is not unheard of for the handset maker. WSJ reports this sales expectation reduction is the result of Sony's move away from the Chinese market.
As we have seen with other smartphone companies like HTC, the smartphone business can be lucrative, but one or two flagship devices isn't usually enough to carry a company. |
