iFixit got their hands on the new Apple iPad Air 2, and proceeded to do what they do best - a complete tearown and analysis. The logic board on the iPad Air 2 reveals the APL1012 A8X 64-bit chipset, which is coupled with 2GB of RAM (2 x 1GB) and SK Hynix NAND flash memory.
To cram so much into so little (the iPad Air 2 is just 6.1mm thick), Apple cut down the battery capacity from a 32.9Wh unit of the original iPad Air to a 27.62Wh battery on the iPad Air 2.
iFixit awarded the iPad Air 2 a poor repairiblity score of 2/10. A shame, really. Keep that tablet safe, you. |
