United Test and Assembly Center (UTAC) Taiwan has said revenues for the fourth quarter of 2009 are set to hit the year's high, and expects to see levels in the upcoming first quarter hold flat on a continued pickup in demand for both DRAM and NAND flash memory.
UTAC usually experiences a revenue decline of 10% sequentially in the first quarter as a result of seasonality, according to company general manager YL Hsu. However, Hsu said the company believes the recent rebound in demand is likely continue into the first quarter of next year.
Rivals Powertech Technology (PTI) and Walton Advanced Engineering have both given better-than-expected fourth-quarter guidance and estimated their first-quarters of 2010 to buck seasonal trends, according to previous reports.
