A super narrow display has been unveiled by LG that includes a bezel width of just 0.7mm, effectively making the display edge-to-edge. The 5.1-inch full HD display panel is the narrowest in the world, according to LG, and it compliments the already existing thinnest display in the world that also belongs to LG.
Neo Edge technology has helped decrease the bezel size because it uses adhesive instead of tape to secure the panel. Other technologies were used, including Advanced In-Cell Touch (AIT). This display is actually the first implementation of AIT, a technology that has helped decrease bezel size to under the width of a 0.8mm credit card.
Chinese customers will be the first group with access to devices using the new narrow displays, and LG is putting the panels into mass production next month.
