There are two big views in the television market right now. One view is that OLEDs are not going to become the standard and instead, LCD will take over. On the other hand, some companies believe OLEDs are the future, at least right now. Samsung is taking the former stance and Kim Hyun-seok, head of the Samsung TV division, has confirmed the company is not coming out with any new OLED TVs in 2015.
One of Samsung's largest competitors, LG, will be coming out with multiple OLED televisions throughout the next year.
While LG continues on with OLED, Samsung is putting time and money into UHD TVs with quantum dot LCD panels. Some new models will be shown off during CES 2015 in January. |
