MediaTek has reported consolidated revenues of NT$21.6 billion (US$705.9 million) for October 2014, up 16.5% sequentially and hitting a monthly record. Accumulated 2014 sales through October totaled NT$179.2 billion, rising 62.7% from a year earlier.

MediaTek guided its consolidated sales for the fourth quarter would post an up to 6% decrease or growth of up to 2% on quarter, better than market watchers' estimate of an about 10% drop.

In addition, market watchers expect MediaTek to ship 18-20 million smartphone chips during the fourth quarter of 2014, buoyed by brisk shipments for 4G smartphones.

MediaTek forecast shipments of its smartphone solutions will register flat sequential growth in the fourth quarter. The company shipped 90-100 million smartphone chips in the third quarter.
