As first Galaxy S6 rumours starting to come out, we have learned that the company's next-gen flagship smartphone will be designed from the ground-up. Samsung plans to use next-gen UFS flash memory in its flagship smartphone, also known as "Project Zero."
The UFS 2.0 flash memory, which is short for Universal Flash Storage, is a next-gen flash memory that combines high transfer speeds like SSDs and low power consumption. For comparison, current eMMC memory can achieve 400 MB/s, while UFS can achieve transfer speeds of 1.2 GB/s.
Apparently, Samsung isn't the only one to use UFS memory as Xiaomi will also use it in its upcoming devices. |
