Xiaomi Technology has announced it will invest US$10 million in local Internet television company Youku Tudou, aiming to integrate Xiaomi's end devices with Youku Tudou's TV content, according to a China-based sina.com report.
The investment in Youku Tudou is part of Xiaomi's plan to invest up to US$1 billion in video related industries in order to address content issues for its end devices, including smartphones, TVs and set-top boxes (STBs), said the online news media.
Xiaomi said that it will not focus on producing video content in large volume at this moment, but aim to grow with its partner. |
