A report from Taiwan suggests that production of the Apple iPhone 5c will be discontinued sometime in mid-2015. Although no specific reasons were cited, our best guess is that Apple would introduce a new budget model to replace the aging and not-well-off iPhone 5c.

The iPhone 5c was introduced alongside the iPhone 5s in 2013 as a low-cost alternative. However, the price difference wasn't too great between the two. It ultimately resulted in consumers deciding to spend a little extra and go for the iPhone 5s instead of getting this plastic toy.
