China-based vendor Coolpad is cooperating with China Telecom to unveil the Platinum Dayton, a flagship smartphone featuring dual operating systems (OS) for security purposes, for launch initially in the China market at a retail price of over CNY4,000 (US$653) in late November, according to China-based tech.sina.com.

Platinum Dayton features an open Android operating system and a closed Android operating system, with the latter only for voice communications and short messages and unable to access the Internet due to considerations of security. Users can easily switch from one operating system to the other.
