Samsung reportedly is postponing the launch of its mid-range/entry-level Galaxy A-series smartphones in China, originally scheduled for the end of November due to a delay in related R&D. The devices are estimated to be launched after mid-December, according to a Korean-language ET News report citing sources from South Korea's IT industry

Samsung is looking to expand its influence in China's smartphone market with the Galaxy A-series products and the delay is expected to push back Samsung's related marketing, the report noted.

The sources said the delay has nothing to do with production issues, the report added.

Samsung's Galaxy A5 features a 5-inch HD display, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front camera, and supports Android 4.4 and dual-SIM cards. It is priced at CNY2,599 (US$423).
