Huawei has announced a new octa-core mobile SoC. The Kirin 620 isn't made of high-end materials. Instead, it is made of ingredients that allow it to go up against Qualcomm's mid-range Snapdragon 615 SoC. The 64-bit Kirin 620 is based on 8 x Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.2 GHz, coupled with an ARM Mali450 MP4 GPU.

The Kirin 620 SoC supports LPDDR3 RAM, GSM / TD-SCDMA / WCDMA / TD-LTE /LTE FDD connectivity (Cat. 4 LTE speeds up to 150 Mbps) and 13 MP front cameras. Also, the chip can drive up to Full HD resolution panels. Huawei's new chip is built using the 28nm manufacturing process.
