Asustek Computer has announced consolidated revenues of NT$48.95 billion (US$1.57 billion) for November, up 5.1% on month, but down slightly by 0.72% on year, and combined consolidated revenues for the first 11 months of 2014 reached NT$435 billion, up 2.73% on year.

Asustek pointed out that the company's stable performance in November was mainly due to strong demand for its smartphones. Of the over 1.3 million smartphones it shipped in November, about one million went to Asia Pacific markets.

Asustek also achieved strong notebook sales in Asia Pacific markets. As the notebook market will enter the slow season, the vendor's revenues are expected to decrease starting December.

As for the recent sharp declines in foreign exchange rates at emerging markets such as Brazil, Asustek believes the issue will undermine its gross margins in the short term, but will have no long-term impact.

Asustek estimates it will ship 5.5 million notebooks, 2.8 million tablets and four million smartphones for the fourth quarter, while its motherboard shipments will drop slightly to reach 5.6 million units.

For 2014, Asustek is expected to ship 20.1 million notebooks (up from 18.8 million units in 2013), 9.4 million tablets, 22 million motherboards and eight million smartphones.
