Quanta Computer saw its November consolidated revenues drop 1.4% on month and 17.8% on year to reach NT$80.83 billion (US$2.59 billion), but combined consolidated revenues from January-November 2014 grew 6.58% on year to reach NT$837.5 billion.

Despite a decline in revenues, Quanta's notebook shipments in November were 4.7 million units, up from 3.9 million in October as most of its notebook orders for the month were low-price models.

However, the company saw a strong revenue contribution from its non-notebook businesses such as all-in-one PCs, tablets and servers; otherwise its November revenues' on-month decline would be much larger, the company explained.

With November being the shipment peak of the fourth quarter, the company expects its notebook shipments in December to drop and total 3.8-4.2 million units and its overall shipments in the fourth quarter are estimated to decline 6-9% sequentially. However, the company will still be able to achieve its annual shipment goal of 41 million units for 2014.

As for 2015, Quanta vice chairman CC Leung expects the company to continue achieving shipment growth for its notebook business. Some market watchers pointed out as most brand vendors are mainly placing their orders with the top-2 ODMs, Quanta and Compal are both expected to enjoy notebook shipment growth in 2015.
