During a press conference in Taiwan, Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 smartphones. Both smartphones come with similar specs and prices. The Galaxy A3 is priced at TWD 8,990 ($290), while the A5 will retail for TWD 11,990 (around $380).

The Galaxy A5 has a 5-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, a 13 MP rear camera, 2 GB of RAM and a 2,300 mAh battery, while the Galaxy A3 has a 4.5-inch 540 x 960 Super AMOLED display, 1.5 GB of RAM, an 8 MP rear camera and a 1,900 mAh.

Other specs are the same and include a 5 MP front camera, a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 16 GB of storage and Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
