There will be 215 million LCD TVs shipped globally in 2014, increasing on year by 5.5%, and the shipments will grow by 3.7% to 223 million units in 2015 with Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics together having a global market share of 39.3% and all China-based vendors a combined share of 32.9%, according to China-based ?intell Consulting.

Samsung will ship about 49 million TVs in 2014 and between 58-60 million in 2015 while LG is expected to ship 31.2 million in 2014 followed by 38-40 million in 2015.

The China TV market is expected to reach 44.47 million in 2014, down 3.2% on year and further reach 45.98 million in 2015. The top six OEM and TV vendors in China are expected to ship 64.6 million units in 2014 and see 20% growth in 2015 to around 80 million units, the firm said.

TCL is expected to ship 16 million TVs in 2014 followed by 21 million in 2015 while Skyworth will see its shipments increase from about 1.5 million in 2014 to about 3-4 million in 2015, the firm said.
