Nokia held a special event in Beijing today, in which they officially launched the Nokia N1. The Finnish company's first Android tablet costs CNY 1,599 in China, which is roughly $260. The Nokia N1 is a fine piece of hardware that can take on the likes of the Apple iPad Mini. Despite its lower price tag, the Nokia N1 offers equally capable hardware.

Key specs of the Nokia N1 Android tablet include an 8 MP rear camera, 5 MP front camera, 32 GB internal storage, and Nokia Z Launcher as its default UI. The tablet is powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3480 processor clocked at 2.4 GHz processor, has a 7.9-inch (2048 x 1536 pixel) high-resolution display, and weighs just over 300 grams. It's powered by a 5,300 mAh battery.

The Nokia N1 is only 6.9mm thick, as compared to the iPad Mini 3 which is 7.5mm thick. Nokia will ship the slate with Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box.

Nokia is expected to bring the N1 to Europe in February.
