As more China vendors are releasing Full HD handsets at CNY1,000 (US$164), the penetration rate of Full HD handset panels in China during 2015 is expected to surpass 30%.

Smartphones sized 5.5-inch will be the main size shipped in 2015 for Full HD panels as local vendors and telecom providers offer promotions and various subsidies for Full HD handset products.

CNY1,000 and below priced smartphones are considered a key selling point for many Chinese consumers and trends show that vendors will be looking to promote high-specification, lower-priced handsets in 2015.

The pricing will also prompt continued price wars for panel supply chains as they aim to secure orders from China handset vendors.

Meanwhile, handsets with HD resolution are expected to hold a 40% share in the China market during 2015 and FWVGA technology 14%.
