MediaTek has quietly adjusted its organizational structure by setting up two business groups - wireless products and home entertainment - to cover all its product lines, according to industry sources.

MediaTek's wireless products group includes its chip solutions targeted at mobile phones and wearable devices, which will be led by company senior VP Jeffrey Ju, said the sources.

Meanwhile, MediaTek's VP Joe Chen will lead the company's home entertainment group, which consists of solutions for TVs, tablets, DVD and optical storage drives, the sources indicated.

The organizational change will help improve the company's management efficiency, and further enhance its R&D capability, the sources noted.

MediaTek has reported record consolidated revenues of NT$213.06 billion (US$6.68 billion) for 2014.
