Powerchip Technology has raised its 2010 capex to NT$17.488 billion (US$548 million), from an originally planned NT$12.7 billion, the resolution by the DRAM maker's board of directors as indicating.
Powerchip plans to install four to five new sets of immersion scanner equipment in 2011.
Powerchip in previous reports saying its first set of immersion equipment would arrive in the fourth quarter of 2010. It plans to start deploying Elpida Memory's 45nm design in the first quarter of 2011.
