The Chinese market for smartphones is set to be dominated by Chinese companies. MarketWatch has released a new report showing that the Samsung market share in China has fallen by 20 percent over the past year. Samsung now has control over just 13.7 percent of the market, and Lenovo, Apple, and Huawei are taking over.

Sales for Samsung smartphones did decrease substantially during 2014, though sales for all handsets dropped in China during the year. The change in market share is what really shows Samsung is not likely to be a dominate player in that country's smartphone industry.

Digital Trends has cited an industry analyst who claimed Samsung has yet to change its business tactics to fit the Chinese market and that has resulted in a falling market share.
