Microsoft's earnings report for Q2 fiscal 2015 reveal that the company sold 10.5 million Lumia handsets in the latest quarter. That's over than two million units more than what Microsoft managed to sell during the same quarter last year. The exact figure was 8.2 million. So, Microsoft's Lumia division is up 28% year-over-year.

However, Windows Phone revenue has taken a plunge. Microsoft blames their Nokia acquisition deal, a one-time transaction, for this. The latest Lumia 535 handset has seen widespread adoption in developing countries such as India. The company is expected to launch a new flagship in mid-2015, based on Windows 10.
