Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor will reportedly be absent from the Galaxy S6 smartphone. Snapdragon processors have been used in other Galaxy devices. Without naming names, Qualcomm released a statement saying the 810 "will not be in the upcoming design cycle of a large customer's flagship design."
Since we've heard numerous times that Samsung has decided to move away from the Snapdragon 810 for the S6, it seems obvious which company Qualcomm is talking about. Samsung is reportedly not set to use the 810 because of heat-related issues.
Most Galaxy phones in the US use Snapdragon processors and Qualcomm's biggest customer is Samsung. The Galaxy S6 will be Samsung's new flagship, so this is a big hit for Qualcomm. |
