Meizu has announced the 5-inch Meizu m1, which you may have heard of before being referred to as the Meizu Blue Charm. This 5-inch Android Smartphone costs only $110, but don't let its price tag fool you. Despite being very affordable, the Meizu m1 has capable specifications.

The Meizu m1, design wise, has taken cues from the iPhone 5c. It's got a much larger display (protected by Gorilla Glass 3) and offers far more pixels (1280 x 768), thus keeping a respectable 300ppi pixl density. The Smartphone is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT6732 SoC (4 x ARM Cortex A53 CPUs) clocked at 1.5 GHz. Coupled with this chipset is ARM's powerful MaliT760 GPU. Also a part of the spec sheet are 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of expandable storage, 13 MP rear and 5 MP rear cameras, and a 2,610 mAh battery.

Xiaomi's Redmi Note 4G is the closest competitor to the Meizu m1. Both offer a differentiated set of specs, and the Redmi Note 4G is more expensive too. Perhaps Meizu will introduce a larger device in its Blue Charm range in the near future, to take on the Redmi Note 4G.

Meizu's m1 handset will be available for pre-order in China from February 5th for CNY 699 ($110).
