There's no more overheating issue present with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, at least according to a Chinese analyst. Old Yao, the analyst, has posted on Weibo that overheating was recognized as a problem by Qualcomm and has since been entirely addressed. Reports have claimed significant issues with the Snapdragon 810 were going to cause delays.
Now that the issue is reportedly fixed, Qualcomm is getting back on-track. The new report from TSMC sources claims Qualcomm will have the chip ready for shipment by the end of next month. That's not as bad as some had expected for the chip following reports of overheating.
Despite denying the overheating problem, Qualcomm has reportedly been working on it internally. Instead of coming out with a statement acknowledging the issue, Qualcomm may have figured it'd be better to just quietly fix it. |
