The United States is one market that Chinese company Xiaomi really isn't that interested in, at least for now. It seemed likely the company would be moving to the US because it had scheduled an event in San Francisco, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Xiaomi is indeed holding an American press conference on February 12, but it claims to not be entering the country.

A spokesperson for Xiaomi has said "Xiaomi will not be launching in the US, or entering the US market this time."

The spokesperson did say Xiaomi views the US as a potential expansion opportunity but the company doesn't have any official plans.

Xiaomi is one of the largest smartphone makers in China.
