Acer expects its PC sales to significantly grow in mature markets including the US and Western Europe in 2015, with marketing to focus on Chromebooks, 2-in-1 notebooks and gaming notebooks, according to CEO Jason Chen.
For smartphones, Acer will enhance cooperation with mobile telecom carriers for contract-bundled sales in 2015 and launch more models, Chen said. Acer will not directly sell smartphones via retail channels, Chen indicated.
In related news, Acer on February 24 unveiled abPBX plus and aBeing, two in-house-developed BYOC (bring your own cloud) solutions, according to the company.
Designed for use by enterprises, abPBX plus is based on all IP communications and integrates a traditional telephony system with smartphones, tablets and other types of mobile devices to provide a global communication network, Acer said. aBeing serves as a powerful cross-platform smart center for individual or home users to consolidate and share intelligence as well as control IoT (Internet of Things) devices, Acer indicated. |
