China-based Haier is exhibiting several own-brand LTE-based tablets at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 and the company will also step into the tablet OEM business to start landing orders for LTE tablet manufacturing.
Haier is showcasing three new tablets at the show, the HaierPad W800 and W203, both featuring Windows 8.1, and the HaierPad 971 with Android.
The W800 features an 8-inch display and Intel's quad-core processor and priced at CNY905 (US$144.20), while the W203 adopts a 10-inch display and Intel's Z3735F processor. The HaierPad 971 is equipped with a 9.7-inch display and 16GB of storage, priced at CNY1,747.
All the devices will be selling in Europe starting in April.
During the show, Haier will also promote its OEM business and looking to land orders for LTE tablets.
For ARM-based products, Haier is offering LTE- or 3G-based solutions with Qualcomm's quad-core MSM8916 processor and panel size choices between 6.95- to 10.1-inch. For the Intel platform, the player is mainly offering Intel's quad-core Z3735 processors with panel size choices between 7- to 11.6-inches, but no support on 3G or 4G communication.
For its 3G tablets, Haier is mainly procuring MediaTek's 8312 and 8382 processors, while for the entry-level devices, the company is using Allwinner's A23 and A33 processors. |
