Enough people have finally migrated away from Windows XP that Windows 7 remains the most popular version of the operating system. Yet, NetMarketShare data shows that XP has actually gained some market share recently while Windows 7 lost some of its share.
The latest data shows Windows XP went from 18.93 percent to 19.15 percent. At the same time, Windows 7 dropped to 55.99 percent, which is below the high market share recorded for Windows 7 in 2014.
Windows 7's market share is greater than the shares of XP, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 combined. |
