Apple still has not confirmed the existence of a larger 12.9-inch iPad Pro but sources keep telling the media that one does exist. Details are also being leaked and a Wall Street Journal report claims Apple is considering the inclusion of a USB 3.0 port in the iPad Pro. This would improve data transfers and let people connect wired peripherals to the iPad.
Other recent reports, such as one from Bloomberg, claim Apple is targeting a late 2014 release for the iPad Pro. Manufacturing is said to begin in September.
A USB port would make sense on the iPad Pro since it is targeted at a different set of users than other iPads. Unlike current iPads which are not great at replacing laptops, especially for business users, the iPad Pro could conceivably serve as a laptop replacement. |
