MediaTek has reported that consolidated net sales for February 2015 totaled NT$9.671 billion (US$307.12 million), down 38.52% on year and 44.62% sequentially.

The Taiwan-based IC designer's consolidated revenues for the first two months of 2015 came to NT$27.135 billion, declining 5.4% compared to a year ago.

MediaTek estimated previously consolidated revenues for the first quarter of 2015 would be between NT$45.5 billion and NT$49.9 billion, representing a sequential decline of 10-18%. The company attributed the lower sales to smartphone clients' transition from old to new products, seasonal factors as well as fewer working days due to the Lunar New Year holidays.

MediaTek's shares on the Taiwan stock market closed at NT$470.50 on March 6, down 1% or NT$5.

Meanwhile, MediaTek has announced that its MT3188, a multi-mode wireless charging IC, is now commercially available to customers.

The reference design, which includes the power electronics, supervisory circuit, and resonator, has already passed three certifications including the A4WP, WPC and PMA standards groups, the firm said.
