Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi 2 in India. To be available exclusively from Flipkart, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 builds on the Redmi 1S by offering a 64-bit processor, enhanced display with Dragontrail Glass, and 4G LTE connectivity support while offering dual SIM slots.

The Redmi 2 has a quad-core Snapdragon 410 chipset, paired with 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot. An 8MP Omnivision f/2.2 rear camera is present, the 2MP front camera can shoot 720p videos. The Redmi 2 has a 2200 mAh battery. MIUIv6 based on Android 4.4 KitKat runs the show.

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 is priced at Rs. 6999, which is roughly $116. It will be available in pink, yellow, green, grey and white colors, exclusively on Flipkart from March 24th.

If you want to buy a Smartphone with 2GB RAM, Hugo Barra said that the Redmi 2 with 2GB RAM will be launched in India in the near future.
