After several weeks of rumours, VAIO Phone is now officially announced. The smartphone is no flagship killer or some higher-end smartphone, and will currently sell only in Japan for just $33 (4,000 Yen) with unlimited data plans from B-mobile in Japan.

It is built around a 5-inch 720p display that is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage and a 2,500 mAh battery. There is a microSD card slot, a 13-megapixel rear and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
